2002 Sales List
Listed below is just a small sample of the horses available at Unicorn
Valley. The imported horses were selected for their excellent tolt, great
dispositions and willingness with brakes as well as good looks. New shipments
from Iceland arrive periodically, so do check back. Our youngsters are out of
first prize stallions who were selected as sires for our foals because of their
outstanding dispositions and natural tolt. All our horses are totally free of
vices and easy to handle. They are handled from birth but not spoiled. Prices
are subject to change.

STOR FRA ODDHOLI - born in
Iceland in 1989, imported in 1997. This well-bred chestnut mare has
given us some lovely foals that are very large and natural tolters.
She is a very willing riding horse and is herself also a natural
tolter. This means she will chose tolt when speeding up from walk. She
has been here for four years and and has never shown a sign of summer
eczema.

SWIPA FROM UNICORN VALLEY – born in 1996 (out of
Hrefna from Unicorn Valley and Sindri fra Gardi. This pretty easy-going
black mare with her copious mane and tail is an excellent horse (her
grandfather is Sorli fra Sautharkroki) in every respect. Her gaits are
all super-smooth and extremely ground-covering – she is very eager to
work, and yet will stop on a dime if asked. She is probably four-gaited
and an absolute joy to ride. Swipa is also a very good breeding horse.
She has had two foals, both of them outstanding. Her powerful
five-gaited sire, (Sindri fra Gardi, owned by Ann Ellwell) who has been
shown at many breed demonstrations all over the United States (perhaps
you have seen him) has been called a steam locomotive.

KRUMMI FROM UNICORN VALLEY – born in 1997
imported in utero (out of STOR FRA ODDHOLI and GAMMUR FRA GERDUM).
This colt shows extraordinary large movements with great overreach.
His disposition is outstanding. His bloodlines are excellent. His
grandfather is the famous Hrafn fra Holtsmula 802. All that taken
together make him an excellent stallion prospect. Krummi has started
his training and is very easy to deal with, even while breeding
mares. (Sale is subject to conditions.)

TINDRA FROM UNICORN VALLEY - born in 1997 (out
of Eistla from Unicorn Valley and first-prize stallion Rokkvi fra
Alftagerdi. Tindra is a friendly red dun larger-than-average mare with
excellent conformation and temperament. Her gaits are smooth and
ground-covering. She is likely five-gaited and has an easy-to-get
natural tolt. Like her mother, Eistla, she will probably have a tendency
to have larger than average foals, regardless of the sire. Her daughter
who was born in April looks nearly as large as a yearling at less than
six months of age.
